FREE Printable: Absolutely Fabulous

Today I have another movie-related printable for you all. I'm very excited for this one. I know Star Trek: Beyond is coming out today and as much as I'm very excited for that movie and I'm a big Sci Fi fan and a Trekkie, however, I've already seen a couple great Star Trek printables out there. So instead of Star Trek I give you another movie that is coming out today: Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie! Anyone else used to watch that absolutely ridiculous show that is Ab Fab? I have fond memories of watching this hilarious show with my mother and sister and just laughing our asses off. This is British comedy at it's best. Enjoy Sweetie Darlings! ;)

DIY Sticker Book

I recently went to a planner meetup and meet some awesome Toronto-based planner ladies. This kind of meetup is a lot of fun because it helped me realize that I'm not the only crazy person who's obsessed with everything planner, sticker, washi and stationery related. I've actually found kindred spirits in the form of real true-to-life unicorns and badass babes who also love to make their daily life functional and beautiful with paper planners full of stamps, stickers, washi and the like.

It really was a great time and not only did I meet some real unicorns I also gathered some great ideas, snooped other people's planners and swapped for some fun goodies. I would definitely recommend going to one of these if you can find one in your neck of the woods. Or better yet maybe check out your local Michael's store because they're putting on a planner addict meetup in conjunction with Me and My Big Ideas on April 21 all over North America.

So one of the things that I brought to show off to the planner ladies is a sticker book I put together to help organize and house my somewhat infinite collection of Etsy stickers. My fellow planner addicts also loved this idea and had lots of questions so I'd like to share with you now how I put it together and what materials I used. Read below and enjoy!

Supplies needed:
Instructions:
  1. Place the covers flat on your work surface and connect the expander rings to the covers.
  2. Cut out some cardstock to 9&1/4" tall by 7" wide, punch with MAMBI punch and round the corners with your corner rounder if using.
  3. Using your double-sided tape roller or glue stick place 1 line of glue at the top of a sticker sheet and place it at the bottom of the cardstock. Repeat with another sticker sheet and layer it on top on the last sheet, leaving space to see it. Continue this process until that side is full, flip and continue on other side of page. I like to organize my stickers by shop and then I do one page per weekly kit for example.
  4. Continue all the previous steps until you have a full book of your beautiful planner stickers: yippee!
  5. Attach the pages to the rings and compile your brand spanking new sticker book made all by you! Celebrate and enjoy your creation! 😄

Welcome to Uncommon Plans

Welcome! I started this blog as a way to share my love for all things stationery, stickers and especially planner related. I've always been an arts and crafts person ever since I can remember and that love has continued into adulthood. I have fond memories of macaroni noodle art as a child, sticker books with little white space left and my first school agenda that I filled with stickers and wrote in with coloured pens.

Now as an adult, I've discovered this wonderful online world known as the planner community filled with fellow grown children that never got past their love of stickers, paper, coloured pens and planners. I've been posting on Instagram for over 6 months now and there's so much love in this community for all the beauty I create and share. I want to continue to share my beautiful creations both here and on my YouTube channel.

An example of how I decorate and use my planner: found on Instagram
My goal for this blog is to be a place where I can expand on my creations and my planner goals. I want my planners to become the tools for managing my current hectic life as a shift worker while also helping me to create my boss lady life as an aspiring entrepreneur. I want to share my ideas, inspirations, goals, plans, printables and my favourite things.

I've also come to the conclusion that in order to find true planner peace for myself (and hopefully for others too) I will have to design and create my own planner and that is my ultimate goal. I also want to create stickers and planner resources for other shift workers like myself. I ultimately want to help other shift workers, entrepreneurs and all around badass boss babes reach their goals and live a happy and beautiful life.

I hope you bookmark my page and come back often to see what me and my planners are up to. Check me out on social media and comment below what you'd like to see me share and write about.
